Aquaculture
As pioneers in the development of technology and
systems for intensive mariculture under the Westwaters trademark, Westeam distributes
innovative products within the Italian territory on behalf of manufacturers of
international significance in this sector.
West Waters is a division
of Westeam s.r.l, founded on the objective to diversify the company's activity,
benefitting from the sound experience of certain associates in the aquaculture
sector as suppliers of high value-added goods and services.
The working group that
manages the West Waters division has developed significant expertise in the
sector in which it operates and is made up of a team of highly professional
persons.
Belonging to a common
generation and mutual respect and trust, have contributed to the creation of a
harmonious climate in which ideas materialize and projects become reality.
Affirmation of aquaculture
as a high-growth production industry has drawn an ever-growing attention to the
technical problems associated with production of aquatic organisms and, in
particular, to the development of a technical and commercial structure
dedicated exclusively to the sector.
West Waters brings together high profile
technical skills drawing on the collaboration of professional figures capable
of covering the spectrum of technology and marketing.
The available know-how is
the assurance to our customers of quality in carrying out the tasks entrusted
to us.
The business area includes
market research, feasibility studies, industrial planning and engineering for
implementing reproduction facilities, rearing and processing of the catch.
The collaboration established
among the major companies in the sector place West Waters at the center of
significant entrepreneurial experience and create a direct line to the complex
and dynamic world of aquaculture.
The experience of the West
Waters working group has grown through the direct participation of the partners
in carrying out important projects implemented in Italy and abroad.
Since the early 90s a
number of high technical content initiatives have been completed, including the
planning and start-up of offshore mariculture installations, as well as the
development of strategic technologies relating to reproduction problems of
valuable fish species.

In aquaculture, attention
to nutrition problems makes a considerable difference in the economic
results. The choice of specific feeding
protocols consequently assumes a high level of importance. Therefore, the use of products that can
ensure more balanced and effective nutrition represents a tangible reduction in
costs for the user.
In harmony with this vision, in 2002 West
Waters concluded an agreement with the Dutch group Coppens International for
exclusive distribution in the national territory of feeds for the various fresh
and salt water species - a range of important and complementary products for
the aquaculture industry production.
